During the twenty-plus years Hal Ellms has been involved in the outdoor industry, he has covered a lot of ground. Beginning in 1982 on a retail sales floor, he moved on to management, buying, and outdoor education. In 1995 he settled in as a rep and has been at it ever since. Hal lives with his family in central Vermont and enjoys telemark skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.
Ben Winther has worked in the outdoor industry since 1993. He began his career in outdoor education, working with adjudicated youth. For ten years he was involved in the paddle sports industry, eventually becoming an independent rep. He and Hal joined forces in 2005 to start Pinnacle Outdoor Group. Ben lives with his wife and two pugs in New Hampshire and loves, among other things, running, paddling, surfing and eating
Sarah Miller joined the Pinnacle Outdoor Group in 2008. Sarah first discovered the outdoor industry in 2000 as a retail associate. From there, she worked her way into various positions on the wholesale side of the Industry including customer service, sales and technical representative. When Sarah’s not on the road or in the office, she stays busy telemark skiing, rock climbing and mountain biking.
Pinnacle Outdoor Group's newest team member is Rebecca Scholand. Prior to joining Pinnacle Outdoor Group (POG), Rebecca worked with Backpacker Magazine as a Brand Ambassador on the Women’s Get Out More Tour. During her time with Backpacker she traveled the country educating audiences about planning and executing outdoor adventures. Previously, Rebecca lived and worked on the summit of Mount Washington as a Weather Observer; Education Specialist for the Mount Washington Observatory. Rebecca lives in North Conway, NH where she enjoys all forms of outdoor recreation. In her new position with POG, she will be responsible for social media coordination, retail clinics and consumer events, and raising the profile of our brands throughout New England.
